Our Projects

The Octagon Community Centre is dedicated to enriching the lives of community members in the Brook Farm area of Malvern and beyond. ​ Primarily, we are a volunteer led charity, and are always looking to broaden our team, do get in touch if you would like get involved. 

Malvern Community Kitchen

Our Community Kitchen provides high quality, freshly cooked early evening supper at The Octagon Centre on Monday evenings at 4:30pm for local families with children.  Our referral partners include local schools, the Malvern Hills social prescribing team and local GPs.  Families referred to us are invited to join us for family supper every week for a least 6 months.​

Monday 4:30pm

September 2025 Update!

 

From 15th September 2025 until the end of 2025, all families with children living at home in our local area will be welcome to join us for supper:  no need for a referral.  Just come along at 4:30pm on Monday evening for some tasty, healthy, home cooked food. If you are able to email us in advance at malverncommunitykitchen@theoctagoncentre.org.uk to let us know that you are coming, that would be great.

Thursday Project

Thursday 3:30-5pm (term time)

Thursday Project is an after-school-cafe-style-session for families with primary-school-aged-children.  ​ We offer activities, crafts or games, as well as a light meal, and access to Our Community Pantry (for a £3 donation). If you access the Community Pantry through Thursday Project, you are not able to access on Friday as well.

Our Community and Cafe Pantry

Friday 9:30-11am

Our Community Pantry is a surplus food project. Supporting households in need by distributing surplus food. For a £3 donation people can select up to five items from our fridge and pantry as well as a bag of fresh vegetables from our freebies table (subject to availability). We run a café-style session alongside our Community Pantry where we offer hot drinks and a space to meet old friends and make new ones.

Thursday Evening Pantry

Thursdays 5:30-6:30pm

For a £3 donation people can select up to five items from our fridge and pantry as well as a bag of fresh vegetables from our freebies table (subject to availability). This is for people who can't attend on Fridays
